Pregnancy is the period in which an embryo is developed inside the womb of the mother. The normal period of pregnancy is nine months. The symptoms of pregnancy can be tenderness of the breasts, no periods, urine coming frequently, vomiting, nausea, hunger. But, sometimes during the pregnancy, fibroids are developed. The other name of fibroid is leiomyomas. Fibroids are the non-cancerous growth of the tumors inside the womb. The symptoms of fibroid during pregnancy can be widespread pain in the stomach, severe cramps, frequent urination, problems of the digestive system etc. Fibroids can lead to obstructed labor, loss of pregnancy, necrosis, preterm labor, malpresentation etc.

The following are the treatment done in order to deal with the fibroids during the pregnancy:

Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (gn-rh) agonists:- these are the medicines that are used in order to deal with the fibroids during the pregnancy. These medicines help in blocking progesterone and estrogen production. Due to the stoppage of the production of progesterone and estrogen, a temporary menopause is caused. It leads to the shrinking of the fibroids. Some of the most common gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists are synarel and lupron. So, these medicines can be taken in order to treat the fibroids during the pregnancy ;

Hysteroscopy:- hysteroscopy is a surgery used for treating the disorder relating to the fibroids. This type of surgery is mostly done for treating the few and small fibroids in the women. This type of surgery is also performed for removing the fibroids from the uterus. While performing the surgery of hysteroscopy, a thin lighted telescope is put inside through the cervix and vagina. The telescope is inserted directly into the uterus. The fluid is also put inside the uterus. For removing the fibroids, the doctor uses a device. The fibroids come out along with the liquids that were put into the uterus. The advice of the doctor is necessary for treatment of the fibroids during the pregnancy from this method. So, this is done in order to deal with the fibroids during the pregnancy

Laparoscopy:- laparoscopy is another surgery that is used for treating the fibroids. This surgery is not performed in every case of pregnant women. It is performed when the women are having fewer and smaller fibroids. In the surgery of laparoscopy, two cuts are made on the belly. After making the cuts from the first side, the telescope is put inside the uterus and from the other side a tool is put inside to remove the fibroids. So, laparoscopy can be used for curing the fibroids ;

Abdominal myomectomy:- abdominal myomectomy is a surgery performed for treating the problem of fibroids during the pregnancy. The other name of abdominal myomectomy is laparotomy. This type of surgery is done mostly for the treatment of the fibroids that are large. During the abdominal myomectomy surgery, the cuts are made in the lower side of the belly and from that only, the fibroids are taken out from the uterus. It takes almost three to six weeks to recover properly after abdominal myomectomy. So, surgery of myomectomy can be performed for treating the fibroids during the pregnancy

Non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs:- these are the drugs that help in the treatment of the fibroids. These drugs help in preventing the pain caused due to the fibroids during the pregnancy. The most common non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are naproxen and ibuprofen. These are mostly suitable in dealing with the fibroids during the pregnancy. So, for treating the fibroids during the pregnancy, these drugs can be consumed ;

Uterine artery embolization:- uterine artery embolization is another remedy that is used to deal with the fibroids during the pregnancy. In this, the tiny particles are injected inside through the arteries which are carried to the uterus. When the supply of the blood to the fibroid is stopped, then automatically the fibroids start shrinking. So, uterine artery embolization can also be done for treating the fibroids during the pregnancy

Myolysis:- myolysis is another method used for treating the problem of fibroids during the pregnancy. In this method, heat or an electric current is used. When the heat and an electric current is passed, there is a stoppage of the flow of blood to the fibroids which in turn leads to the destruction of the fibroids. So the method of myolysis can also be used for treating the problem of the fibroids during the pregnancy

Endometrial ablation:- endometrial ablation is another remedy used in dealing with the fibroids during the pregnancy. It is considered effective in the cases when there are small fibroids around the uterus. This procedure helps in destroying the lining of the uterus. It doesn't remove the fibroids properly but it helps in giving relief from the heavy bleeding caused due to the growth of the fibroids. It also helps in giving relief from the pain in the abdomen. In this procedure, the doctor uses a cold probe, an electric current, heated fluid, high-energy radio waves and a balloon filled with fluid that is heated. This type of procedure is done in very rare cases. The complications of this procedure can be infection, urinary problems, damage to the bladder, complications of pregnancy in the future etc. So, endometrial ablation can also be used for dealing with the fibroids during the pregnancy.
